ipod cozy

This is way better than the iskin that I bought for mypod a few weeks ago, it just seems much more ipod friendly than a cold, rubbery, lint-attracting "skin." Just the word skin kinda gives you the creeps. Not "cozy" though, mmm... I can imagine my nice happy little ipod now, all snuggled up in warm, rasberry-colored felt. The best feature though - it has a pouch for your headphones. Genius! And it's only 25 bucks, I could make it myself, but for that price, why not support a small business?

Ok, this is the cutest thing I have ever seen. It's nice to know that there are others out there that are as obsessed with toast as I am. This stuffed peice of toast is part of a long line of strage stuffed items, including all kinds of doughnuts and even stuffed tampons. I love it!

Bird purse

I've been looking for a skinny purse like this for quite a while. The picture isn't very good, but it is a deep brown color which sits nicely with my earth tone hippy roots. Lotta Jansdotter's site has a lot more knifty stuff as well.

Horizontal watch

I found this, along with many many other things at the SF MOMA store. That place is on target, let me tell you. They have some of the coolest, weirest and most contemporary stuff. I think what I like best about this watch is that it can be read horizontally as well. Not only is it original, it makes for easy reading when you wear your watch face on the inside of your wrist lik me.

Modern tea ceremony

Not much to say about this, I just like it. It's very clean, and by the looks of the rest of th stuff by magppie they likes it that way. I can picture this in line with a sleek table of dark mahogany wood, with dark brown table mats, napkins and other table ornamets. Alternating brown and while plates, siver serving trays with organic green leaves and splashes of richly dark pink orchids. Very sleek siver and short, but not squat glass ware, mostly white like the kettle and sharp edged. This would definately be a sushi dinner, the main center peice, ichebana. Oh, think how nice those little plops of wasabi will look with those colors!!

Focus

This is from a series of new age motivational posters, which is a very cool idea. I doubt the "hang in there" kitty is quite as inspirational as it once was (if, in fact, it every was). I really like this one, though at first it seemed contradictory, what with all the lack of focus that it has at first glance, but that is the creativity and the beauty that stems from a clear and focused mind. This would and is actually inspirational to me. And for $15, it's entirely do-able.

This peice of knifty little machinery brings back some memories. I used to love my nail bed art sculpture thingy when I was a kid, in fact, I probably still have it boxed up somewhere in my parents garage. That someone decided to put it into clock form is just beyond cool. I wonder what it looks like as its changing time...

This is a very beautiful solution to a very common problem. I love the fact that function fits form so well, I can just reach down and drop in my bedside reading like nothing! The matress also lifts to reveal more storage there as well. For an 'out of sight, out of mind' girl like me this is heaven!

This is a blog that I am creating for myself. A place to develop my style, where I keep my likes and dislikes. Here my dream consumer identity will be created so I can recognize that I do get sucked into the capitalism that surrounds me, and hopefully be able to put it at rest. This will be at the same time my consumerism catharsis, my luxury layaway, my purchasing pressure release, my... well you get the idea. But, being the hypocrite that I am, this will also be a place for me to amass what I hope will become "my style." Just how much can you learn about a person by the stuff they like?
